| The jumpsuit makes another return |
|
One of the leading summer looks in the UK this year, locals are already reporting that the look is showing up at Year 12 school formals and local society functions. No sign of the chunky cork-heel wedges that we also saw at the same time in the 70s, although I did notice that Big W has at least one retro-inspired mega-chunky-heel in faux cork in it's footwear section leading in to summer, so expect that 70's chic is on the way back in a big way soon. |

what's new

Not seen in popular circles since the 70s, the humble jumpsuit has made a return, albeit via high-fashion. Seen in the 2011 collections of labels such as Zara, Laura Ashley and higher-level names such as Marc Jacobs and Yves Saint Laurent, the jumpsuit seems to have no driving force behind the colouring of styling, but the feel is decidedly summer with a mix of black and white print, CMYK-inspired magentas and cyans and a mix of florals and stripes.
